Sorry Bethel, if Michigan voters stay home over abortion and help get a radical progressive elected, that is an insane choice. Rush Limbaugh had it right in his first book: abortion is a heart issue. We have to transform hearts and minds to win the debate and limit abortion. I know, I am terrible and stupid for writing such things, but inaction that leads to Al Sayed getting elected is worse.
Paul, no pro-life activist in the history of ever has disagreed with the proposition that abortion is a heart issue and that hearts and minds need to be changed. The work of quietly changing one heart and mind at a time goes on. Meanwhile, it's good and healthy to hold the candidates who claim to represent us to some basic standards.
Hello Bethel, thank you for the comment. I know it is not the most ideal situation to vote against issues, or vote against someone, however, Rogers will at least be willing to listen to pro-life concerns. Al-Sayed won’t. At all.
Also, honestly, I have to disagree with you. I hear arguments being made about laws that would make abortion the legal equivalent of murder (if I heard her correctly, Allie Beth Stuckey supports this). That is not transforming hearts and minds. That is brute force by government fiat. That’s how democrats, and Trumpists do things, not conservatives.
I mean, abortion is murder. If we had a majority of Americans who thought it should be legal to kill toddlers something tells me we wouldn't have such a proliferation of woolly euphemism around that issue. I think persuasion is good. Also, the law is a teacher.
Meanwhile I'm not even sure how "willing" Rogers will in fact be when it comes to any pro-life concern that involves meaningfully changing the status quo.
We have been given a reprieve. The rot continues.

Thank you for reading.
If you're only now realizing that I've never been pro-choice, sorry to disappoint! It's quite a basic non-negotiable for me.
