In his follow-up post, French asks: "“So, what do you propose to do in response to persistent wealth gaps, achievement gaps, civil rights violations, and residential and educational segregation”? His non-answer: it's hard and complicated. In italics. It left me wondering why he has no questions for those ostensibly suffering from these gaps. One that occurred to me was: when are your men and women going to stop proliferating fatherless families. When are your men and women going to stick together (get married) and center your lives around faith and family till death do you part, demanding from your children that they at least try to excel in some area? But fixing this is something no government can legislate and no white man can compel.

I enjoyed your essay, Esther.

Thanks, kind of you to call this mess of scrambled eggs an "essay." :-)
